For teams of 10 to 600 on Outlook or Gmail

Rocketseed alternative without mail routing or a 50 employee minimum

Rocketseed is a solid server side signature and banner platform with offices in the US, the UK and South Africa. Companies look past it for three reasons: they have fewer than 50 people and do not want to pay for 50, their security review does not want every outgoing email relayed through a vendor's server, or they want a total without a setup fee they have to ask about.

The short answer

Rocketseed sells company email signatures and banner campaigns for Microsoft 365, Exchange and Google Workspace, applied on its own server after each message is sent. Its pricing page starts at 50 employees for $705 a year and reaches $2,445 at 200, with a separate one time setup fee and custom pricing above 200. Between 50 and 140 people it costs less than we do. Pick AutoSignature if you have fewer than 50 people, want no relay in your mail flow, or need a published number up to 600 mailboxes.

A 20 person company pays for 50 seats at Rocketseed

Rocketseed's pricing table starts at 50 employees and its free trial is offered to businesses with 50 or more. Below that line the bill does not shrink. Each square on the right is one seat on the smallest tier; the filled ones are the people a 20 person firm actually has.

On our Team plan the same firm pays $588 a year for up to 25 mailboxes, $117 less than Rocketseed's $705, and there is no setup invoice. Small law firms, advisory practices and agencies sit in exactly this gap.

What Rocketseed costs at each company size

Rocketseed lists four tiers in US dollars on its pricing page and quotes above 200 employees. The table puts our plan for the same headcount next to it. Rocketseed's setup fee is left out because it is not published, so add it to their column once you have the quote.

Read honestly, Rocketseed is cheaper from 50 to about 140 employees and at 200, and the gap is widest just after one of our band edges. We come out ahead below 50 people because of their floor, at 150 by a small margin, and on any total once their setup fee is added. On monthly billing our plans are $99, $299 and $799, so a 25 person team paying month to month pays $26 more with us than Rocketseed's $73. The same math for other tools is in Exclaimer pricing by company size and CodeTwo pricing.

Where your email goes with Rocketseed, and with us

Rocketseed calls its Microsoft 365 product an SMTP relay. That is accurate and it is why it reaches every device. It is also the first thing a vendor risk questionnaire asks about.

Rocketseed

  1. 1 Employee clicks send in Outlook, Gmail or a phone app
  2. 2 Connector and transport rule pass the message to the Rocketseed server
  3. 3 Signature and banner are added on that server
  4. 4 Message returns to Microsoft or Google through a closed SMTP loop
  5. 5 Recipient gets the branded email

Every outgoing message leaves your tenant and comes back.

AutoSignature

  1. 1 Admin connects the Microsoft 365 tenant or Google domain once
  2. 2 We write the approved signature to each mailbox from directory fields
  3. 3 Employee writes and sees the signature in Outlook, Gmail or the phone app
  4. 4 Microsoft or Google delivers the message directly
  5. 5 Recipient gets the branded email

Mail flow is untouched. We never see a message body.

Rocketseed also offers Signature on Compose, an add-in for Outlook and Gmail that shows the signature while the employee types, at no extra cost. It does not run on mobile, and banner campaigns are still applied on the Rocketseed server after send. Relaying is not wrong, and Rocketseed holds ISO 27001 and states HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance. But if your policy is that no third party touches outgoing mail, a mailbox written signature is the cleaner answer. The platform detail is on Office 365 email signature management and Google Workspace email signature management.

Where Rocketseed wins and where we do

Rocketseed is the better pick when

  • You have 50 to 140 employees and price decides

At $705 a year for 50 and $1,320 for 100, it undercuts our Business plan across that range even with a modest setup fee added.

  • Marketing runs the signature as a channel

Banner campaigns with analytics, Salesforce and HubSpot integrations, and Google Analytics tracking are the core of what it sells.

  • You want it designed and set up for you

The setup fee buys implementation, signature and banner design, and team training, and support runs 24/7 on every tier.

AutoSignature is the better pick when

  • You have fewer than 50 people

Team covers up to 25 mailboxes for $588 a year, below Rocketseed's smallest tier, with nothing paid for empty seats.

  • No relay is allowed in the mail path

No connector, no transport rule, no add-in. The signature lives on the mailbox, so Outlook, Gmail and phone apps send it as the user's own.

  • Finance wants a number for 200 to 600

Scale is $399 a month on yearly billing for up to 600 mailboxes, published, with no setup line and no call.

Rocketseed vs AutoSignature, feature by feature

The Rocketseed column comes from its pricing page, homepage, how it works page and its Signature on Compose article. Where a point is not described there, the table says so rather than guessing.

Who moves from Rocketseed to AutoSignature

The 18 agent brokerage

A real estate brokerage with 18 agents and three office staff is quoted the 50 employee tier plus setup. It needs one compliant signature per state license, not a banner program, and pays $588 a year on Team.

The practice whose review flagged the relay

A medical practice asks every vendor that touches outgoing mail for a BAA and a data flow diagram. A tool that writes to the mailbox and never sees the message answers most of that before it is asked.

The 350 person company that wants a figure

Past 200 employees Rocketseed prices by quote, plus setup. If finance needs next year's number before anyone takes a sales call, ours is $4,788 a year for up to 600 mailboxes.

Moving off Rocketseed in four steps

  1. 01

    Check the renewal terms

Rocketseed says cancellation is subject to contract terms. Find your renewal date and notice period first, so the switch lands before the next term starts.

  2. 02

    Export what you built

Save each signature layout, the legal text, banner artwork and links, and the Google or Microsoft groups each one is assigned to. Rebuild them in the console above.

  3. 03

    Pilot one group

Connect the tenant and deploy to one team. Remove that team from Rocketseed's distribution group first, or its mail goes out with two signatures.

  4. 04

    Remove the relay last

When every group shows the new signature, delete the Rocketseed connectors and transport rules in Exchange admin, or the outbound route in Google admin, and remove the compose add-in.

For the Outlook side in detail, including what employees see on day one, read the Outlook signature manager page.

Rocketseed alternative questions

How much does Rocketseed cost?

Rocketseed's pricing page lists $705 a year for 50 employees, $1,320 for 100, $1,843 for 150 and $2,445 for 200 on annual billing, or $73, $137, $192 and $237 a month on monthly billing. Above 200 employees the price is custom. A one time setup fee is charged on top, and its amount is not published.

What is the best Rocketseed alternative?

It depends on what pushes you away. For a company under 50 people that does not want to pay for 50, or one whose security team will not route outgoing mail through a vendor's relay, AutoSignature. For the lowest per user price on Microsoft 365, CodeTwo or Sigsync. For large banner programs with CRM targeting, Exclaimer or Opensense.

Does Rocketseed route email through its servers?

Yes. Rocketseed describes its Microsoft 365 product as an SMTP relay: connectors and transport rules send each outgoing message to the Rocketseed server, which adds the signature and banner and returns it to Microsoft for delivery. Gmail is routed the same way. Its optional Signature on Compose add-in shows the signature while writing, but banners are still applied on its server.

Is there a minimum number of users for Rocketseed?

Yes. The smallest tier on Rocketseed's pricing page is 50 employees, and its 14 day free trial is offered to businesses with 50 or more employees. A 20 person company therefore pays the 50 employee price, $705 a year on annual billing, which is more than AutoSignature's Team plan at $588 a year for up to 25 mailboxes.

Does Rocketseed charge a setup fee?

Yes. Rocketseed states that a one time setup fee applies, covering technical implementation, signature and banner design, account activation and team training, and that it is separate from the subscription price. The amount is not shown on the pricing page, so ask for it in the quote before comparing totals.

Does Rocketseed work with Google Workspace?

Yes. Rocketseed sells Google Workspace signature management alongside Microsoft 365 and Exchange. On Google Workspace, Gmail routes outgoing mail to the Rocketseed server, which applies the branding and re-submits the message. Branding is assigned through Google groups, and its compose add-in also works in Gmail on desktop.
