Exclaimer alternative with one flat price per company instead of a price per seat
Exclaimer is the best known product in this category and a capable one. If you are reading a comparison, you are probably looking at a renewal quote that grew with your headcount, or at a feature you expected to be included. Here is an honest account of where AutoSignature differs, and where it does not.

The difference that matters
Price shape
Exclaimer is licensed per user, so the bill follows your hiring. AutoSignature is a flat monthly plan for a band of mailboxes: $99 up to 25, $299 up to 150, $799 up to 600. A company that grows from 90 to 140 mailboxes during the year pays the same $299 a month throughout, and the number in next year's budget is the same number as this year's.
- Team, $99 a month, up to 25 mailboxes.
- Business, $299 a month, up to 150 mailboxes.
- Scale, $799 a month, up to 600 mailboxes.
- Yearly billing takes about 20 percent off each of them.
At 150 mailboxes the Business plan works out at roughly two dollars per mailbox a month, which is in the same territory as per-seat pricing at that size. The difference shows up as you hire, and at the point where a per-seat product puts the feature you want in a higher tier for everyone.
Two platforms as equals
AutoSignature treats Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 as the same kind of citizen, with the same template sets, the same groups and the same rollout path. If part of your company runs Workspace, check on any shortlist how deep the Google support really goes rather than whether the box is ticked.
An honest comparison
Where the two are alike
Both manage signatures centrally, fill them from directory data, deploy by group, support banner campaigns and disclaimers, and cover mobile. Neither of them is a signature generator for one person. If you have already decided you need this category, either product will get signatures off your ticket queue.
Where to look closely on any shortlist
- Whether mail is routed through the vendor's cloud to apply signatures, and whether your security review is comfortable with that. AutoSignature writes to the mailbox and does not route your mail.
- Which tier the banner campaigns, the analytics and the mobile enforcement sit in, and what the price is once they are included.
- Whether the sender sees the signature in the compose window and in Sent Items, or only the recipient sees it.
- Whether Google Workspace is supported to the same depth as Microsoft 365.
- The renewal terms, and what happens to the price when your headcount changes mid-term.
Where Exclaimer is ahead today
It has been in this market far longer, with a large installed base, a partner network and years of edge cases behind its Microsoft integration. AutoSignature is the newer product: flat pricing, two equal platforms, roles that keep marketing and IT apart, and one-click rollback on every deployment. Those are the reasons to switch. Length of track record is not one of them, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
What a move looks like
- Build your template set in the studio first, with your own brand, and compare it side by side with the signature you have today.
- Connect the tenant and deploy to one department, while the current product still holds the rest.
- Widen group by group. Because signatures are written to the mailbox, the swap happens per group rather than as one cutover night.
- Keep your Exchange mail flow rules if you have them, as explained on the Exchange page.
Exclaimer's own tiers are turned into monthly and yearly totals in Exclaimer pricing at 25 to 500 users. The other comparisons people ask for are on the CodeTwo alternative and WiseStamp alternative pages, and the list prices of both big vendors are worked out side by side in Exclaimer vs CodeTwo pricing at 25 to 500 mailboxes and Exclaimer vs WiseStamp pricing. Letsignit, which lists $2 per user on annual terms, is priced out in Letsignit pricing at 25 to 500 mailboxes. For the enterprise end of the market there is Opensense pricing and its $500 monthly minimum. Plans and limits are on the pricing page.
