Refund policy

Charges for AutoSignature plans are final. Money is returned only when our billing made a mistake, when a card was used without permission and that can be shown, or when the service failed completely and we could not fix it. This page applies from 14 October 2026.

What a plan pays for

Team, Business, Scale and Enterprise are subscriptions billed by card, monthly or yearly, for the band of mailboxes listed on the pricing page. The charge buys access to the studio and to signature deployment for that period. Access opens on the first day of the period, and the fee is the same whether you push signatures to every mailbox each day or leave the templates untouched.

By subscribing you ask us to begin the service immediately and accept that any statutory right to withdraw or cooling-off period ends once the service has started.

Renewals and cancelling

  • Plans renew automatically for the same period until an administrator cancels in billing settings. No email to us is needed.
  • Cancelling stops every renewal after it. The current period stays paid and active to its end, and no part of it is pro-rated or credited.
  • A new period is payable the moment it begins. If the card is declined, the invoice stays open and our payment operator retries it over the next days. Those retries collect the one open invoice and are not extra charges.
  • Cancelling while a renewal invoice is open stops later periods but does not cancel that invoice, and a renewal collected after retries is final.
  • To avoid a renewal, cancel before the renewal date shown in billing settings. Cancelling is not a request for a refund.

The three cases where we return money

Charged twice

A fault in our billing charged you two times for the same period. We return the duplicate.

A card used without permission

You report the charge within 14 days, and our account records and the payment record together show the purchase was not authorised by the cardholder. An assertion on its own does not settle it, and we may ask you to confirm that the misuse was reported to the card issuer.

A total outage we did not resolve

A confirmed fault on our side made AutoSignature unusable as a whole for a continuous period, an administrator reported it while it was happening, and we could not restore the service. Slow deployment, one mailbox not updating, a tenant permission you revoked, or issues with your directory, mail client or network are outside this case.

A refund under any of these cases is limited to what was paid for the affected period, goes back only to the card that was charged, and is our entire liability for that charge. It does not create a right to a further refund.

Reasons that are not grounds for a refund

  • Your company changed its mind, switched tools, or no longer needs central signature management.
  • The tenant was never connected, or signatures were deployed to fewer mailboxes than the band covers.
  • A renewal charge, including one collected days after the renewal date following declined attempts.
  • Believing the plan was a one-time payment. Automatic renewal is stated on the pricing page, at checkout, in the confirmation email and in billing settings.
  • Forgetting to cancel before a renewal, or cancelling right after one.
  • How a signature renders in a particular mail client, or a design that did not turn out as hoped.
  • A feature that is not described on the pricing page, or that works differently from what you expected.
  • Choosing a plan, billing period or mailbox band that turned out larger than needed.
  • Moving to a higher plan because your mailbox count grew past the band.
  • Actions taken by administrators you appointed, or by anyone using shared credentials.

How to report a billing problem

Write to support@autosignature.com from the email address that identifies your account, within 14 days of the charge. Say when you were charged, how much, and which of the three cases applies. Messages received later or through another route are not considered. They are handled in the order they arrive, with no promised reply time, and a declined request is not reopened.

Please write to us before going to your bank. A chargeback opened without contacting us first breaches the terms of service, and the account is closed permanently.

The records we keep

Creating an account means accepting the terms of service, which include this policy, and the privacy policy. Checkout shows the plan, the price, the billing period and the automatic renewal before payment, and the confirmation email repeats them.

For each subscription we keep the time of purchase, the plan and price shown at checkout, the acceptance of the terms, the emails we sent, and a log of account activity such as sign-ins, administrator changes, template edits and deployments, with the technical details recorded beside each one. The payment operator keeps its own record of every charge, including where the card was issued, where the payment came from and the result of bank authentication such as 3D Secure. Unauthorised charge claims are checked against these records, and they are supplied to the card issuer when a chargeback is raised.

Subscriptions bought before this policy

A subscription bought before 14 October 2026 stays under the refund terms that applied when it was bought.
